BHPL Book Groups

BHPL offers *three book groups for adults. The books discussed include a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction and biography titles. BHPL also offers a book group for teens, see the Teen Events page for more information.

*New Book Group (“Books Speak Volumes”) Interest Meeting
BHPL is starting a new book group led by Doug Gutch, one of our Circulation Assistants. Please come to the library’s Conference Room if you would like to join the book group and bring book suggestions for future discussions. If you have any questions, please email Doug at dgutch@bhplnj.org
The first discussion meeting will be on Thursday, October 19 to discuss Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. The time of the discussion meeting will be determined at the interest meeting on September 21.

For October 2023, both the Morning Book Group and the Evening Book Group will discuss The Doctors Blackwell: how two pioneering sisters brought medicine to women and–and women to medicine by Janice P. Nimura. The Morning discussion will be on Friday, October 6 at 10:30 am and the Evening discussion will be on Tuesday, October 10 at 7:15 pm. The Doctors Blackwell is available as an eAudiobook from hoopla and there may be eAudiobook copies available from Libby.
