BHPL Book Groups

BHPL offers several book groups for adults: “Books Speak Volumes”, the Morning Book Group, and the Evening Book Group. Scroll down for more information about each book group. In addition there is also the Mayor’s Wellness Book Club, the Joy of Cookbooking Club , and a book group for teens, see the Teen Events page.

“Books Speak Volumes” Book Group

The Books Speak Volumes group usually meets the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. Check the list of previous Books Speak Volumes reading selections here.

The next discussion meeting will be on Thursday, July 18 at 7 pm to discuss The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown.

Friday Morning Book Group

The Morning book group usually meets the first Friday of each month at 10:30 am. Check the list of previous morning book group reading selections here.

*Please note that there is no July meeting for the Morning Book Group. Morning Book Group members are welcome to attend the Tuesday Evening Book Group’s July 9th discussion of Hester at 7:15 pm.

The August meeting will be on Friday, August 2 at 10:30 am to discuss Life on the Mississippi: an epic American adventure by Rinker BuckLife on the Mississippi may be available as an eBook on Libby. BHPL owns a Audiobook on CD copy of Life on the Mississippi – check the catalog to see if it’s available or to place a hold.

Tuesday Evening Book Group

The Evening book group usually meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:15 pm. Check the list of previous evening book group reading selections here.

The July meeting will be on Tuesday, July 9 at 7:15 pm to discuss Hester: a novel by Laurie Lico Albanese. Hester is available on Libby as an eBook & eAudiobook and is also available as an eAudiobook on hoopla.
