BHPL Book Groups

BHPL offers several book groups for adults: “Books Speak Volumes”, the Morning Book Group, and the Evening Book Group. Scroll down for more information about each book group. In addition there is also the Mayor’s Wellness Book Club, the Joy of Cookbooking Club , and a book group for teens, see the Teen Events page.

“Books Speak Volumes” Book Group

The Books Speak Volumes group usually meets the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. Check the list of previous Books Speak Volumes reading selections here.

The next discussion meeting will be on Thursday, February 20 at 7:00 pm to discuss Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: an inquiry into values by Robert Pirsig.
Some print copies of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance are available for checkout; stop by or contact the Circulation Desk at (908) 608-8603 x1. The eBook is available on hoopla and the eAudiobook may be available on Libby.

Friday Morning Book Group

The Morning book group usually meets the first Friday of each month at 10:30 am. Check the list of previous Morning book group reading selections here.

The next meeting will be on Friday, February 7 at 10:30 am to discuss If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin. Some print copies of If Beale Street Could Talk are available for checkout; the eBook and eAudiobook may be available on Libby.

The Evening book group usually meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Check the list of previous Evening book group reading selections here.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:00 pm to discuss Love & Whiskey: the remarkable true story of Jack Daniel, his master distiller Nearest Green, and the improbable rise of Uncle Nearest by Fawn Weaver.
